Cognitive Skills Training for ACSI Urban Schools!!!
BrainSkills and the ACSI Urban School Services Department have joined together to provide free online instruments for identifying and treating cognitive skills deficiencies to Urban Schools with ACSI membership.
Our educational foundation is comprised of cognitive skills which determines our capacity to learn. Students struggle to learn when cognitive skills are deficient. During the 2008–09 school year ACSI Urban Schools will have access to Cognitive Skills Assessment and Training as a membership service at no additional cost. Use of this tool provides an opportunity for your under-resourced students to increase their learning potential.
ACSI schools that are not urban may access the assessment free for a limited time. For information, contact Urban School Services Department.
Enrollment in BrainSkills will begin June ’08 in preparation for the 2008-09 school year. Experience the Gibson Cognitive Skills Test.
For registration and additional information see The Meantime, Volume 7.3 or BrainSkills.
Economics
Economics Education is as important as learning how to read. Through the study of Economics your students are equipped with knowledge that will assist them in making choices (financial and everyday) for the rest of their lives.
Did you know Economics Literacy is available to you at “NO COST?” Visit the Federal Reserve for the latest materials, lesson plans and games available for K–12. For further information broaden your knowledge by visiting Powell Center for Economic Literacy. This organization provides Economic Literacy information in addition to teacher and student programs. Through a grant they are providing “FREE” lesson plans specifically for urban educators to ensure all children have access to Economic principles, concepts and ideas.
