Programs Overview

Last Updated Feb 26, 2009

We are leading schools toward greater effectiveness!

Early Education Services: We can assist your school in building a biblical foundation to impact young children for eternity. Professional personnel provide practical leadership through conferences, workshops, publications, curriculum materials, certification, accreditation, and a biennial International Early Education Directors Conference. Our quarterly magazine Christian Early Education promotes professional growth and provides practical resources for preschool and childcare programs.

Insurance and Financial Services: Our professional financial services and programs enable you to better serve your students and families, as well as recover the cost of ACSI membership through group membership discounts. The following services are available to member schools: tuition management services, student and professional insurance programs, and financial services.

International Services: The International Ministries headquarter’s office, along with five international regional offices, implement the services of ACSI in over 100 countries, serving the unique needs of children worldwide. As a key service, this office provides missions opportunities and materials for your school in an effort to foster a biblical worldview in your students. Opportunities for school staff and students include sponsoring a child overseas to attend a Christian school (student sponsorship), missions education and prayer resources, student mission trips, and overseas teaching opportunities.

Legal/Legislative Services: Stay abreast of legal and legislative issues that can impact your school. Our Legal/Legislative Department tracks a broad array of national, state, and local issues and provides current information and practical help when needed. Legal/Legislative Update, published three times per year, and the ACSI website undergird this vital service.

Student Activities: We believe student activities and events can enhance a child’s God-given gifts and abilities. Member school students are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities that give expression to the individual within a context promoting Christian character and conduct. Activities include spelling bees, speech meets, math olympics, creative writing festivals, cheerleading competitions, science fairs, art and music festivals, and student leadership conferences.

Urban School Services: Our focus is to assist and equip urban Christian schools to address the significant cultural and socioeconomic challenges they face within their communities. This department also provides consultation and support to churches and groups wishing to start Christ-centered urban schools to meet the unique needs of economically disadvantaged children. Our quarterly publication The Meantime educates member schools with regard to essential diversity issues. Services to Canadian and international schools may vary.

Accreditation: Our rigorous accreditation process is vital to moving schools toward maturity and increasing effectiveness. Available for grades P–12, ACSI accreditation is nationally recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation, by numerous states, and by most regional accrediting bodies.

STAR Program: To encourage schools to start down the road of formal school improvement, we instituted Steps Toward Achieving Recognition (STAR). Each step is designed to take one year and includes a Web-based reporting and support process. STAR schools are noted as program participants in the annual ACSI directory.

Student Assessment: Member schools have access to the Stanford Achievement Tests, an annual program of student assessment for grades K–12. In conjunction with Harcourt Educational Measurement, a Bible Assessment Subtest was developed to measure mastery of facts, and understanding and application of biblical principles. By ordering through ACSI, members benefit from special pricing and exact quantity ordering.

Teacher Certification: Our certification process provides professional credentials for Christian school educators at all levels and in all disciplines. Establishing and maintaining the certification of staff and administration is an essential step toward professional credibility and growth.

Conventions and Conferences: In addition to your regional teacher convention, ACSI provides annual conferences for administrators, school board members, and early educators to assist and encourage staff and volunteer development throughout the year.

Leadership Development: Nurturing capable and visionary leadership is vital to your school’s future. Each year we work diligently to provide instruction and mentoring through the following venues: One-Day Enablers, Leadership Academy, International Institute for Christian School Educators, Administrative Mentoring Programs, and Administrative Internships. Each provides a distinctive approach to cultivating visionary leadership.

Professional Educator Associations: Perhaps this is the year to join a professional association to enhance your individual growth or that of your staff or board. Membership provides targeted resources such as newsletters, books, tapes, and monographs to keep you in touch with current practices and trends in the field.

  • International Association of Christian School Administrators (IACSA)
  • International Association of Christian School Board Members (IACSB)
  • International Association of Christian Early Educators (IACEE)

Textbook series include: preschool and kindergarten materials, elementary and secondary Bible, elementary and middle school mathematics, and elementary spelling. ACSI also offers a middle and high school literature series.
