Each year, approximately 7,000 Christian School educators attend the ACSI Anaheim Convention located at the Anaheim Convention Center. The Convention features three inspiring general sessions, more than 500 seminars on distinctive topics pertinent to educators, and approximately 300 exhibitors.

General Session I Keynote
Helen Easterling Williams, EdD Dean, School of Education Azusa Pacific University Azusa, CA
Title: Beyond…Toward the Future
Helen Easterling Williams is the dean of the School of Education at Azusa Pacific University (APU) in Azusa, California. Prior to joining APU, she served as senior assistant dean of the University of Delaware College of Arts and Sciences (2003–06), where she established diversity initiatives for recruiting and retaining faculty and students-of-color, monitored enrollment management, initiated the Women-in-Science Program, served as liason to the dean's office for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation process, and functioned as the University's liaison to the American Council on Education Delaware Network. Some of her other responsibilities included the Dean's Scholars Program, the College Faculty Senate, the Liberal Studies Program, Medical Scholars Program, and the faculty-Student Grievance Process. From 2000–03, Helen Easterling Williams was the senior assistant dean for the University of Delaware University Parallel Program at their Georgetown, Dover, and Wilmington campuses. Prior to this, she served as the assistant dean of the Univeristy Parallel Program—Wilmington campus (1997–2000).
Dr. Williams’ breadth of professional educational experience includes roles in administration, teaching, counseling, and speech and language therapy. She is an American Council on Education 2004–2005 Fellow. In that capacity, she served at the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, where she established the Office of Instructional Design and Development, collaborated on a K–16 Early College Program concept paper, prepared an assessment report for the University of Delaware, and provided consultation support to the University of Baltimore. From 1986–1997, Dr. Williams served as the Counselor for Special Services, International Students, Computer Sciences and other technologies. She also served as the Advisor to the Student Government and as a member of the Faculty Senate at the Delaware Technical and Community College in Wilmington, Delaware.
As an ordained Local Deacon of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Dr. Williams has served at Bethel A.ME Church in Wilmington, Delaware, where her leadership responsibilities included the Women’s Prison Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, and Daughters of Radiance Women’s Ministry. Presently, she serves as a member of the ministerial staff of First A.ME Church in Los Angeles, California. Williams is a member of the National Council on Black American Affairs—Northeast Region, the Wilmington Metropolitan Urban League, the Delaware Mentoring Program at the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
General Session II Keynote
Lori Salierno, DMin Founder & CEO Celebrate Life International Acworth, GA
Topic: Beyond…Celebrating the Present
As the Founder and CEO of Celebrate Life International, Inc., Lori Salierno is invited to speak at conferences and business meetings throughout the U.S. and other places in the world. Her work with at-risk kids and her passion to train adults on how to create a better world for our next generation has made her a much-desired keynote speaker.
Celebrate Life International, Inc., is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit service organization dedicated to transforming at-risk kids into responsible citizens through the building of their character based on practical leadership skills and universal ethical principles. The organization is headquartered in Acworth, Georgia with offices in California, Georgia, Louisiana and volunteer chapters established in metropolitan areas throughout the United States.
General Session III Keynote
Brian Simmons, EdD ACSI President Colorado Springs, CO
Topic: Beyond…from Temporal to Eternal
In his current position at Indiana Wesleyan, Simmons is responsible for church, alumni, and government relations as well as all fund-raising initiatives. He is also the president of the Nehemiah Group LLC, a consulting firm that assists Christian schools with governance, strategic planning, technology, and integration of faith and learning. As an adjunct professor he teaches graduate courses at Indiana Wesleyan University and Columbia International University. According to Simmons, My passion is to use my gifts, training, and experience to bring glory to God as I further the cause of Christian education worldwide." He went on to say, "I will promise before God…to lead the Christian school movement worldwide with a sense of calling, devotion, urgency, and passion."
Before holding his current position, Simmons served for 10 years as the superintendent at Heritage Christian School, Indianapolis, Indiana. Under his leadership the school’s enrollment grew from 1,180 to 1,600 students, making it Indiana’s largest K–12 private school. Simmons led the administrative team in strategic program and resource development, growing the school’s budget from $8 to $12 million during his tenure. It was during this time that he was elected to represent the ACSI Mid-America Region on the ACSI Executive Board. He also taught and administrated for 14 years at Elkhart Christian Academy, Elkhart, Indiana.
Simmons was awarded a master’s of science degree in secondary education from Indiana University, South Bend, Indiana, and a doctorate of education in educational administration with a cognate in educational technology from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. He and his wife, Bonnie, have four children—two sons and two daughters. Their youngest will graduate from Heritage Christian School this spring.

Topic: Energy for Office Professionals!
Ruth has directed award-winning programs for over two decades. She helps others have more energy to serve the Lord and fulfill his high calling on their lives. Ruth's background as an author, health professional, radio and TV commentator, and energetic communicator, all help her deliver a message that is motivating, life-changing and fun. She teaches practical skills you can use immediately to improve your health, energy and lifestyle. Ruth loves working with people to show them how to be a success every day—God's way. She is a member of the National Speakers Association, past Director of the Carolinas Speaker Association and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the Institute of Aerobics Research. Ruth was recently selected by Women's World, the largest women's weekly magazine in the country, as one of "America's Ultimate Experts."
