Join us in Lancaster, PA where Mrs. Elisabeth Jochum will lead an energetic and interactive day! Anchored in Truth is a theme about coming together around the latest research in early childhood development and standing on it for the sake of young children. Let’s align our beliefs with Scripture and with research, discovering how we must adjust our thinking and our programs to foster maximum brain development.
Anchored in Truth: Building Foundations for Early Childhood Programs
⚓Session 1 : Anchored in Truth – These Things We Know
We’ll collaboratively identify lies and pressures that regulate early childhood programs, then determine how to counteract each of these with truth.
⚓Session 2 : Brain Architecture Game
Join us for an interactive game - using visual models to build understanding of how powerful early experiences are on young developing brains.
⚓Session 3 : Anchored by True Connections
God designed us for connection! We’ll analyze the critical neurological connections that impact the education of children and apply this understanding to create classroom plans that foster connections of children's minds, bodies, emotions, relationships, and souls.
⚓Session 4: Results-Based – Pyramid Approach to Dysregulated Child Behaviors (He does not deal with us according to our sins…Psalm 103:10)
We’ll look at the Pyramid model for healthy social and emotional growth in young children and complete a survey of how our schools are in alignment with the Pyramid model. Join us as we design scenarios demonstrating responsive interactions and lessons in positive social interactions in preschool– and act a few out!
⚓Session 5: Parents Anchored in Truth
How do we transfer this best practice thinking to the family unit? We’ll evaluate different approaches to empower, equip, and encourage families to adopt these best practices.

Mrs. Elisabeth Jochum
Elisabeth attended Houghton College and West Chester University, earning a BS in Elementary Education, and teaching first grade at the ACSI school she attended herself. She and her husband spent 8 years on a church planting team in Indonesia, where Elisabeth taught a group of American kids (including her own 2 children) in a homeschool setting. She has 9 years of experience teaching preschool, and now works as a support consultant to parents and families who are in full time ministry overseas. Her desire is to see children be rooted and grounded in love, that they might know the love of Christ for them. (Ephesians 3:17-19)
