Dr. Christie Baird

Christie M. Baird, Ed.D., loves Jesus and teaching. She has been in education for over thirty years. In churches, she has served as a Children’s Church teacher and director. She has been employed in public education as an elementary teacher, an assistant principal, a School Readiness Coordinator and a Family Literacy Program Director in Southern California. She has worked with state agencies, local partners and a variety of funders to build high quality programs so children have opportunities for school success and parents understand their role as their child’s most important teacher. Currently, she is employed by the Orange County Department of Education in Educational Services. She is a coordinator on the Project GLAD® and Multilingual Academic Services team. She works nationwide with teachers in early childhood providing professional development and support in applying best practices to increase student achievement. Her research interests include early literacy development and teacher efficacy.
