The ACSI Early Education (EE) team is excited to welcome Beth Lantz as their newest team member. A seasoned Christian early education leader with nearly 18 years of experience, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her role. She has served as an adjunct instructor at Iowa State University and possesses expertise in nonprofit administration and early childhood development.

"Beth has hit the ground running," shared Dr. Althea Penn, ACSI EE Director. "She has already met with our Early Education state liaisons, Central Division team members, and ACSI members. Her heart for those serving the Joshua generation and the expertise and energy she brings to the team are truly a blessing."

“I have always been passionate about Kingdom education,” Lantz shared. “ACSI’s mission to advance Christian education on a global scale truly resonates with me. I appreciate the support they offer to educators through professional development and the community they foster among Christian schools.”

Lantz’s journey to Christian education was born out of a desire to align her professional life with her personal beliefs. “After spending years in public schools, I found the increasing introduction of topics in the classroom that didn’t align with my faith led me to seek opportunities within Christian organizations,” she explained. “The chance to support and guide children in their growth through Jesus has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.”

In her new role, Beth is eager to empower early childhood educators and leaders in Christian schools. “I’m most excited about the opportunity to help create environments where children can grow academically, socially, and spiritually,” she said. “The chance to work with such dedicated educators and contribute to the development of faith-based early education programs is deeply fulfilling.”

Lantz also looks forward to collaborating with ACSI’s talented team to develop resources and professional development opportunities for educators. “Ultimately, the chance to make a positive impact on both educators and young learners is truly inspiring and energizing to me,” she added.

Empowering Educators Through Anchored Professional Development

This school year, the Anchored: Designed to Flourish Professional Development events have equipped more than 1,400 Christian early educators and school leaders with transformative strategies. Participants have gained insights into play-based instruction, trauma-informed care, and inquiry-based teaching, with many sharing glowing feedback about their experiences.

"Stability in early education is crucial," Penn explained. "Our Anchored programs provide a steady, nurturing environment where children can thrive. Rooted in Christian values, these programs build a strong foundation for young learners."

One attendee shared, "I have been reminded that I must take care of myself before I can minister to and teach the children in my class. I want to help my children grow, learn, and flourish!"

Celebrating Growth and God's Faithfulness

The ACSI EE team has seen God move in remarkable ways this year. Over 6,229 CEUs were awarded in 2024, and the team reached more than 1,000 touchpoints providing technical assistance for accreditation, licensing, and support for new EE schools.

"We are seeing increased member engagement," Penn noted, pointing to growing participation in programs, a renewed Florida Gold Seal designation, and new state approvals for professional development in Oklahoma, Ohio, Washington, and Maryland.

The team is also celebrating milestones, including Dr. Suzie Mohler’s 11 years of service and Dr. Penn’s three-year tenure as EE Director.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Opportunities for 2025

With a renewed vision for growth, the EE team is excited about the year ahead. Plans include expanding bilingual and ASL-translated professional development events, launching the Christian Preschool Associate Credential micro-credential course, and updating key resources like the Director’s Manual and the Principles and Practices guide.

"As funding increases for quality rating improvement grants, we’re seeing more opportunities to make Christian early education accessible to economically disadvantaged students and those with disabilities," Dr. Penn shared.

Feedback Fuels Progress

The feedback from educators has been overwhelmingly positive. One participant shared, "I thoroughly ENJOYED the speakers today and can’t wait to bring what I’ve learned back to my classroom. Thank you for helping us grow and learn as educators!"

ACSI EE remains committed to supporting and equipping Christian educators as they nurture and guide the next generation in faith and learning.
