Earlier in summer 2024, Christian educators from Central Africa gathered in Kinshasa, DR Congo, for a roundtable discussion. Dr. Sosthene Maletoungou, Divisional Director for Africa at the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), led the event by highlighting the importance of recognizing God's calling for public action at various levels.

According to Maletoungou, each participant acknowledged their role in bringing about positive change and exhibiting strong leadership qualities. “These collective efforts are crucial in reshaping the dynamics between the church, family, and school based on biblical principles,” he said.

Speakers at the gathering stressed the importance of fostering and strengthening such actions through faith, hope, and love in Christ. “The results of these endeavors will have a deep and all-encompassing impact, touching every aspect of life and extending through generations, just like it's shown in Psalm 78:1-7,” explained Maletoungou.

The aim is for educators to use a variety of technology platforms to communicate the message and the positive outcomes of these actions to as many people as possible. As a result, ACSI and its partners in Africa and other regions are committed to establishing a Central African presence that is both more robust and cohesive.

Through collaborative efforts, ACSI and its partners will honor and integrate local cultures and traditions while promoting a unified vision of Christian education that is adaptable and responsive to the needs of communities worldwide. The roundtable marks a pivotal step towards a transformative future for Christian education in Central Africa.

Maletoungou declared the roundtable a huge success, exclaiming that “ACSI and its partners across Africa and elsewhere are committed in Central Africa to be stronger together.”

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done … (Psalm 78)
