War broke out in Ukraine soon after Russia invaded on February 24. Shortly thereafter, ACSI initiated a fundraiser to help our international member schools and refugees impacted by the conflict. After the war started, the second-grade class at Wood County Christian School in Williamstown, WV, made it a point to pray for the country of Ukraine. When the class saw ACSI’s email about how they could help fellow ACSI schools in and around Ukraine, they decided to follow up their prayers with action. Challenging the student body (K-12) to a fundraiser they called "Quarters for Ukraine," the class established a goal to raise $1,000. The entire student body pitched in and after three weeks they had collected $1,092.42.
Thanks to the generosity of individual donors and fundraisers conducted by several schools like WCCS around the world, ACSI has received over $100,000. These funds have been dispersed to help feed the poorest of the poor, providing shelter and education for women and children, helping senior citizens with medications, and housing refugees.
Please join us in praying for wisdom about how to distribute the remainder of these funds and ask that the Lord will comfort the many people who have been displaced. May He provide for all their needs according to His perfect will and timing.
