The Career Service Award (CSA) recognizes ACSI member school teachers and administrators at the preschool through 12th grade level who are entering formal retirement at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year and who have spent a significant portion of their education career in Christian schooling.
Robert King of Harrisburg, PA, was one of the nominees we received this year. King was nominated by Paul Beardmore, Vice President of Educational Programs at Harrisburg Christian School (HCS). King recently completed 49 years in Christian education, and here is what Mr. Beardmore wrote about him:
“There are very few individuals in each generation who you can truly say are an institution. Perhaps no one person better reflects this or has more positively impacted Harrisburg Christian School than Bob King. It has not been the sheer number of students he has impacted over the nearly 40 years he has spent at Harrisburg Christian School that deserves recognition, it has been the quality and depth of that impact that deserves recognition. Bob's Western Thought class has shaped hundreds of students' minds, instructing them to see philosophy from a biblical worldview and impressing upon them the truth that ideas have real consequences. I submit this nomination on behalf of hundreds of HCS alum who can say their lives have been changed and their minds transformed because of their relationship with Mr. Bob King.”
